It is most commonly seen on the hands and feet and it can also be seen in the genital areas. A wart is caused by a human pappilomavirus and it a small tumor which grows on the top layer of the skin. It is non cancerous, but it can spread from one person to another, especially genital warts that spreads through sexual contacts. There are four different kinds of warts namely, Genital warts, Verruca Vulgaris, Flat warts, plantar warts. If you notice small bumps looking similar to a cauliflower, see your doctor immediately, because it might be a wart. Keep your skin always clean and clean any cut on the skin with soap. If you do have warts don’t scratch it, but try to remove it.
There are various method for wart removal, depending on the type of warts. Over the counter creams, gels and lotions containing salicylic acid is very effective for wart removal, but it is not advisable to be used on the face. Silver nitrate product is also ideal for wart removal. Another popular wart removal method is by freezing the wart. This method is known as cryotherapy, where liquid nitrogen is sprayed on the wart to freeze it. A surgical technique used for wart removal is laser treatment. Duct tape is a common method used by many people to remove wart. A duct tape is placed on the warts and removed only six days later. Then soak the warts in warm water and scrape the area with a pumice stone. Other wart removal methods include electrocautery, chemical treatments, keratolysis, curettage, cantharidin, photodynamic therapy, injections etc. Wart removal can also be done at home through various effective and safe home remedies.
